I have a spreadsheet in excel 2010 which retrieves databases from internet (stock prices). I am attaching a picture of the main screen.
I have a list with tickers (stock symbols) so my macro reads the list and runs two other macros that retrieve the data and accomodates the results in a new spreadsheet with a predetermined format. I also feed the number of days I want to retrieve as a variable number. I will provide my own macro that does everything right.
My macros do all of this and I am happy with it but I want to package that in an add-in so other people can use it without having the spreadsheets with visible macros or any visible data.
I want to add a menu to the excel menues in excel 2003 and above in order to run the macro and when it runs I would like a form to appear with a "refedit" box to select the range with tickers, a box to input the number of days desired for the database, cancel and OK buttons and a hyperlink to yahoo finance in order to search for tickets if needed and another hyperlink to my investments consulting webpage.
If the other person enters a wrong ticket will not get data for that ticker, so on error I want the macro to continue with the other tickers and show a splash screen at the end warning for the wrong tickers.
It will be needed to revise and optimize the macro code to make it simpler and more efficient to speed up the process and use less memory. It is a very simple macro indeed.
at the end to offer the user to save the file wherever he wants.
Last thing. If possible to have a progression indicator while the macro runs.
I want to have access to the code later to translate the whole thing to various languages.
