**VLC ([login to view URL]) transcoding and streaming crowdsourcing contest to fix a couple of commandline scripts:**
## Deliverables
Here are the details:
- We Use VLC 2.0 beta on windows box for this. Both scripts are based on suggestions in VLC forums...but seems like we are doing something wrong.
TODO 1: - We use following script on windows server to live transcode mms stream to HLS format and make it viewable on iphone/ ipad devices:
vlc -I dummy --mms-caching 0 [login to view URL] vlc://quit --sout="#transcode{width=480,height=320,fps=7,vcodec=h264,vb=100,venc=x264{aud,p rofile=baseline,level=30,keyint=30,ref=1},acodec=aac,ab=48}:std{access=livehttp{ s eglen=10,delsegs=true,numsegs=5,index=C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Live Websites\xxx\[login to view URL],index-url=[login to view URL]},mux=ts{use- key-frames},dst=C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Live Websites\xxx\mystream-###.ts}" I can view the live stream on iphone at [login to view URL]
ISSUE: The above script works ok when it is the live mms stream ...but, when we configure playlist on Windows Media Server of multiple files and use the above script...the view stops after 1st file play eventhough the view in windows media player stays continues. Your task is to update the script so that it seamlessly works for live as well as playlist mms streams on iphone/ ipad devices.
TODO 2: - - We use following script on server to live transcode mms stream to rtsp format and make it viewable on android/ blackberry and nokia devices:
vlc -I dummy --mms-caching 0 [login to view URL] --sout=#transcode:rtp --sout-rtp-sdp=rtsp://:5000/[login to view URL] --no-sout-x264-cabac --sout-rtp-caching=2000 --sout-transcode-venc=x264 --sout-transcode-audio-sync --sout-x264-profile=baseline --sout-x264-keyint=50 --no-sout-x264-interlaced --sout-x264-ref=1 --sout-x264-vbv-maxrate=100 --sout-x264-vbv-bufsize=512 --sout-x264-aq-mode=0 --sout-x264-partitions=none --sout-x264-weightp=0 --sout-x264-me=dia --sout-x264-subme=0 --no-sout-x264-8x8dct --sout-x264-level=1.3 --sout-transcode-vcodec=h264 --sout-transcode-vb=100 --sout-x264-trellis=0 --sout-transcode-vfilter=canvas{width=480,height=320,aspect=480:320,padd} --sout-transcode-fps=10 --no-sout-rtp-sap --no-sout-rtp-mp4a-latm --sout-transcode-soverlay --sout-keep --audio-desync=-50 --no-sout-x264-weightb --sout-x264-bframes=0 --no-sout-x264-mixed-refs --no-sout-x264-mbtree --sout-ffmpeg-aac-profile=low --meta-title=Testvideo --sout-transcode-acodec=mp4a --sout-transcode-ab=48 --sout-transcode-channels=1
ISSUE: The above script seem to work ok and renders view on VLC ...but, doesn't render view on my galaxy fit device with android 2.3 OS.
Your task is to update the script so that it seamlessly works for live as well as playlist mms streams for blackberry, android and nokia devices. Deliverable: Command line Scripts as requested as per requirements.
Test scenario: 1 - Run the scripts on windows server with VLC 2.0 for live/ playlist mms streams. 2 - Browse given urls iphone / android / blackberry / nokia phone and view the stream working ok.
please go ahead and participate in the contest.
