The Air Guitar Company (AGC) has its headquarters in London with two branch offices in Paris and Madrid. London is connected to the two branch offices via Frame Relay connections which are backed up by ISDN. AGC supports a number of remote workers which are connected to London using ADSL connections. AGC uses the network to support data and VOIP. It is essential that all data traffic is secure. It has been decided to deploy IPSec VPN between London and the two branch offices and for connectivity with remote workers. Authentication of all users is performed centrally using a Radius server connected to London. Due to the nature of the traffic QoS will be configured where appropriate Generic Tasks • The WAN provider supplying the Frame Relay, ISDN, and ADSL circuits has assigned the AGC the [login to view URL] subnet. • London will allocate each Teleworker a public IP address using IPCP. • Use the private network address 192.168.x.0/24 for each router LAN, where the “x?? refers to the router number. • London is to provide NAT translation to the Internet with an outside public address [login to view URL] • All hosts are to be configured with an IP address using DHCP from their local router • AAA authentication must be applied on all routers with authentication data provided by the Radius Server attached to London • Configure appropriate router security • All routers will be remotely managed from London ## Deliverables Detailed Tasks • Each student will configure two routers: Teleworker 1 and Paris OR Teleworker 2 and Madrid. London will be pre-configured. • All public networks will be configured with appropriate open-standard encapsulations. • The average data rate requested by AGC across the Frame Relay cloud is T1. Deploy Traffic shaping in the event of BECN congestion. Choose suitable values for traffic shaping based on normal telco standards. • AGC wishes to use an ISDN DDR link(s) in the eventuality of failure of the primary inter-site Frame Relay links. • The sites will use OSPF as the preferred routing protocol. • AGC requires IPSec to encrypt traffic between all remote sites and London. • AGC wishes to deploy QoS over the Point-to-Point links to favour VOIP and Remote Management traffic. Deploy suitable mechanisms to guarantee a minimum of 16Kbps bandwidth for remote management, 64Kbps for voice traffic over the ADSL and ISDN connections and 512Kbps over the Frame Relay links. In the event that Frame Relay congestion prevents adequate bandwidth for voice traffic it is desirable to bring up the relevant ISDN back-up link. • Suitable compression algorithms are to be deployed on all point-to point connections. • The ADSL circuits have a download bandwidth equivalent to E1 with an upload bandwidth of 256Kbps Deliverables The Case study will be assessed by presentation. To facilitate this, it is required that each student submits, either to the hand-in office or via WebCT, a written report consisting of: 1. A detailed description of their design rationale 2.
