HI I am working as a SQL Server Admin for more than 7.5yrs, an expert in performance Tuning, I have been working on PT issues for Datawarehouse Environment and have solved issues where a Stored procedure was taking 2hours to complete and I reduced them to 7mins. Regards

I've been using SQL for many years. I've also changed one forum that had over 1 million posts from having very slow or sometimes failing searches, to searches that take less than 5 seconds. I was also able to reduce the average server load from 20+ to almost always being less than 1. First any overhead will be removed. Overhead can cause performance hits especially if the overhead amount is significant. I also will look at the queries themselves that are run against the database because certain storage engines work better than others depending on what kind of queries are ran. I will also look at any indexes the tables have because if they have proper indexing, it can greatly improve the speed and execution of queries. I also have been using PHP for many years so if your script is in PHP, I might be able to find places where it can be improved.
