Hi, I’m software and database developer with more than 30 years experience. The past 20 years I worked (full-time, in-situ) for two international organizations (Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, in San Diego, CA, and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, in Victoria, Seychelles). I'm currently retired, and doing some freelancing to stay busy and up-to-date in the area.
I have extensive experience with several RDBMS, including MS SQL Server, Oracle, Firebird, MySQL, Postgre, MS Access and others. I also have experience with VBA (in Access and Excel, mainly). I'm sure I can help and advise you with your project. You should note that MS Access database engine does not have triggers (although they can be simulated using VBA and forms). The main (and most important) advantage of triggers is that you can keep the logic of the database where it belongs (i.e. the database) rather than putting it somewhere else (e.g. the UI). This enforces the logic of your data, independently of the way you access the data. If you really think you require triggers, you may be better of moving your database to MS SQL Server, MySQL or a different RDBMS.
If you think you may be interested in my services, please send me a PM. This way I can provide a copy of my CV (for you to check references and experience) and we can further discuss the details of your project.
Best regards,
Marco García
