The assessment strategy is for students to undertake two pieces of work: Assessment 1 On line multiple-choice question test done in a lab tutorial, covering operations management and decision making from the lectures and tutorials. You must use the software named SimVenture to finish the assessment. Assessment 2 Students will work in groups simulating running a business from inception, for 18 months, making decisions and managing the impact of a changing environment whilst attempting to develop the business successfully. The business simulation will take place in tutorials weeks 23-26 approx. with a submission by week 27. Evidence of the activity will be provided in the form of reports and outputs from SimVenture with decision records and analysis of the impact of the decisions made on the success of the business. The assessment will focus on the strategies and plans developed to expand the business and the decisions made in response to changing business activity and environment. Submission will be individual evidence of involvement in a group decision-making exercise with a report maximum 2000 words evaluating business decision-making in groups.
