I have a media and communications background, with lots of experience copywriting and editing. I am also a screenwriter and have a full understanding of narrative concepts, theme development, plot etc. so overall, I feel I would be a great editor o your current text. I can be quite critical, however, be warned, and tend to pick up on minuscule details. But if that is what you are looking for then you have found the right person. PS. Greetings: I'd be happy to be a second set of eyes on your story and I know from my 25+ years as an editor you would be happy with the result. I work in Delaware, visit D.C. often and spent a semester there in college living in Alexandria. I make words work, and help writers build stories that grab, hold and satisfy readers. My attention to detail is keen; my sense of varied audience tastes acute. If rewrite is needed, my hand is deft, but always attuned to writer voice and intent. I'm not the star. I'm very comfortable with that. A writer simply can’t afford little hiccups like word drops, spelling errors or name/place inconsistencies that yank a reader away from the story and break the spell. I’ll comb your copy to make sure that doesn't happen with your story. Unlike most, I do three full passes when proofing: A straight read to absorb the full story, style and pacing; a screen edit and then a pencil edit of a printout. Anyone who doesn't do a hard-copy final read will miss things, for our brains have been trained by TV and web surfing to skim when staring at a screen. I've worked with hundreds of writers and they would tell you I have helped them with pacing, dialogue, word economy and tense.
