Design and Ajax Programming for PHP/MySQL Project

My company performs testing for client software and media projects. We manage the testing projects using a PHP/MySQL system. The system has different modules that allow different tasks to be assigned to testers, the testers then input their bugs into the database, and reports are created for the clients. The clients can then login to a website and view the reports. There are many other modules as well that help track purchase orders and invoicing, employee and user logins, and report creation from the data. The original programmer of the system is no longer available to update the design and functionality of the system. While the functionality of the database is excellent, it was designed in 2002 and does not take advantage of more recent web technologies for the user interface. This project will involve updating the client interface page where the clients view reports. Currently, the reports are static HTML pages. You'll need to do the following: **- Redesign the layout of the report. The redesign needs to be efficient, clear, easily legible with a "high tech" professional look, and viewable on multiple devices (from an iphone to a large monitor). ** **- Reprogram the presentation of the report to include full sorting, filtering and customization of the data. The "bugs" are presented in tables, and clients should be able to sort and filter on fields such as "Date", "Severity" and "Bug Type". The client should also be able to specify which fields they want to see for the bugs. ** **- Add fields for "Client Input" in the report. When a client views the report, they need the ability to add comments about each bug if desired. Different clients will have access to different bugs, so their comments should be presented below the bug, date stamped and initialed by the order in which the comments were entered. ** This project will be the first of several to update the system to interactive technologies in the next twelve months. All of these projects must utilize Ajax or similar technologies to create interactive "web applications".
