PHP and MySQL are my prime, every day languages. So I can assure you that the files will be uploaded right, validated and sanitized. A spot for ads like you requested is only natural. We'll have to discuss more on how you want them to be displayed and what exactly you mean by the "I should be able to add advertisers that contain links to the advertisers." Other than that, I HAVE worked with WordPress, but I honestly don't use it myself.
