I’am running I site about Boats ( non-profit ). It’s running the Wordpress cms-engine, and it’s working just fine – but ….
I would like a more Portal orientated site.
Functions:
A site where the visitors could register them self, submit articles, comment on articles, give there vote to an article, and submit there own links, also a upcoming event list would be nice. Links should be listed in a Yahoo directory link-style.
Some kind of integrated sells / buys / trade solution would also be nice.
Front-page most hold all the recent information from the DB. Like latest news, comments and so own.
Design:
Pure css, valid xhtml and css. Easy to read, and very clean layout.
Graphic: Something Boat related.

Technical: You have the choice, but I would prefer and open-source engine like wordpress, textpattern, or some of the other Blogging system out there somewhere.
