We don't have to recreate the wheel here. If someone already has a rental application for a video store oe somthing else, we might be able to use that with modification. Heres what I'm Looking For:
I rent Audio and Visual equipment such as sound systems, projectors, screens, microphones, etc.
I don't need anything for accounting, etc.
I need a app (preferbly in VB with an Access db.
It needs to be able to have inventory puy in and when some one wants to rent equipment, I can pick items from a list and let them reserve it. It needs to check to make sure the equipment is available that day and not rented to someone else. I will put more details in the specs.
## Deliverables
Whoever I Work with, I can almost guarentee I will use you to make enhancements to it as I use it.
The main things I need first will be Inventory add Form/section,? The reserve? Form/Section with date picker and dropdown to select items which are checked for availabily depending on how many are available in the db for that date.. For instance, I may have 5 of the same Mic, If all 5 are rented already, it need to tell me that it is unavailable when i try to select another.
It also needs to total the items and list them on a printable reciept.
Also need it to print a contract which i already have in a word .doc
Also need it to be able to check the items back in when they are returned. Another nice feature would be to have a button to print a check in sheet when they return it. Maybe I could select the customer/rental, then have it print the check in sheet of the items on that rental.
It would also be nice to be able to put together a couple of package systems together that i could select and it fills them all in. For example, A basic pa system consists of 1 powered mixer, 2 speakers, 1 moc, 1 mic cable, 2 speaker cables, and 2 speakers stands. It would be nice to select that package and have all the items filled in on the form.
I do not need any accounting other than just totaling the items, a place for the deposit when they reserve it, and the balance due, and be able to print a basic reciept.

Maybe workflow goes:
1 Enter Customer (with picker or add new customer)
2 enter Date to rent(with picker)
3 enter items (with picker)
program totals all items(with salestax)
4 print [url removed, login to view]
In some instances there will be more than 1 of the same items, they can all have the same name
and desc but we need to make sure the system doesnt let us check out
items that are already reserved.
The idea is that if someone calls on the phone to rent a microphone
on Dec 5, if the 5 total we have are already reserved, the program tells us that none are available
for that date.
I would also like to be able to print a list that the customer has rented when they return the items
so i can make sure everything is returned(sort of like a checklist).
As I said after we get this part done, I can hire you in a private auction to do more work, so be a little flexablw with me.
