I require directions for setting up an Antivirus SMTP Gateway.
You must have prior experience configuring a Linux-based Antivirus SMTP Gateway in a production environment. I require a proven, reliable, and secure implementation by someone who is already familiar with performing this project.
I have a RedHat 9 box set up and ready to configure. I need help configuring this box as an SMTP gateway, to scan all inbound E-Mail for viruses and then pass clean E-Mail through to our existing E-Mail server. Virus-infected E-Mail should be deleted (the whole message, not just the attachment) without NDR.
I will need to maintain this box, and be able to rebuild and duplicate this configuration on an additional machine for redundancy. I must also guarantee that no security risks are introduced into our production environment with this project, including back-doors, root shells, etc., therefore I will build the production boxes myself, using your documentation. The box used during the development of this project will be formatted and recycled to guarantee these security requirements.
While you will be expected to set this up in order to verify that the gateway works as required, your bid must also include documenting the step-by-step procedures for configuring sendmail or equivalent mail processor to accept and forward the E-Mail for our domains, and for configuring clamav or equivalent antivirus software to scan the E-Mail and delete infected messages without forwarding them. You will guide and instruct on how to set this up, documenting all required tasks including specific RedHat installation and post-installation installation package requirements, and any other source and binaries that need to be downloaded, compiled, and installed.
I realize that there will need to be some level of interaction with my Linux box in order to accomplish this project. I can provide on-site or remote-access to the Linux box, during the phases of this project. The project will be considered 100% when I can format the box, install Linux on it, and configure it to perform the SMTP gateway and antivirus functions properly.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working Linux-based antivirus SMTP gateway in executable form as well as complete source code and step-by-step instructions to duplicate the fully-functional working antivirus SMTP gateway, and documentation of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For server-side deliverables intended to exist in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all source code and documentation: A human-readable documentation package that will instruct step-by-step the installation of the server and the components required to perform the fully-functional working Linux-based antivirus SMTP gateway functions.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all documentation purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
