Configuration help and tuition for tomcat and IntelliJ

I am new to web programming and fairly new to Java too. ? I am finding the Java programming easy, but the configuration of my web servers and IntelliJ is difficult. ? I have a small Java web project, but it is not configured correctly. ? I need the configuration fixed and I also need to learn what I have been doing wrong. ? We'll use Skype and possibly some remote desktop system (not sure which one is best). ## Deliverables * Why do my page requests all return empty pages, with no error message and no text? ? (A local instance of tomcat running on my Windows box) * When I create a new project from the existing sources, why does tomcat fail to find my class? * How do I set up remote debugging? (tomcat on a Linux server) * Why is tomcat not logging any messages? * What is a "facet"? * How do I set up an Ant job to deploy the .war file to the server? * Why can my customer access the site via a browser but not using a C++ program which makes Http requests, a program which works for other people? ? (This last item might be more difficult to resolve, I'd settle for some theorising). I'm using IntelliJ 9.01 ? and ? tomcat 6. The task will be done using Skype and possibly some remote desktop system. ? I'm based in Sydney and can work 10:00 - 17:00 or 21:00-23:00 Sydney time.
