advice personal group portal website

I need advice on creating an personal website for friends/co-workers to access and share infomormation and files.? I am not opposed to using a free CMS like dupral, moomba, etc. but want the functionality more.? If they can provide it, great, but I'm having a hard time finding the info.? I'm also interested in using a puchased flash website template if that would be helpful, but need a really good, efficient admin management utility for the site.
