We have Cpanel machines and when we need to move 1 server to another, cpanels move scripts are very slow, we found rsync as a viable alternative.
3 Parts to system:
1. The main script to call and begin restore
2. a configuation script that i input basic source / target information
3. txt file that i can add/remove files and folders
The order is important IE: i want home to be moved last, i want such and such file/folder moved first etc....
Requirements
1. files/folders are moved to exactly where they sit on the source machine so /etc/[login to view URL] goes to /etc/[login to view URL] on target machine
**2. Must be resumable, if script or rsync crashes, i dont want it to restart from scratch**
3. Can be setup with SSH Rsync or daemon
The servers we move are very large shared hosting servers, so its not fieasble for it to start over if it crashes.
