This project will develop a client-side 'AB Line Tool' whose purpose is to allow a user to define a directed line from within a web-page plug-in environment.
The technology to be used is open to discussion, but I am leaning toward Flash. I will discuss any option that will meet our requirements. Other options may include java applet, ajax, javascript, etc.
The tool, as described in the requirements, will be an intuitive, graphical interface that depicts agricultural fields (or other geographic polygons), allows a user to navigate (pan, zoom, etc.) in that space, and allows a user to define or select a previously defined line for a given field. The tool will need to load data from the parent system, probably in the form of an XML file. Once a line is chosen, the tool will notify the server-side system.
The developer is only responsible for developing the client-side tool, and working with InTime developers to integrate and communicate with that tool.
Note that efficiency of design is important. The tool may be used several times in succession, and so must load quickly as well as operate smoothly. It must be compatible with most browsers and must be simple for novice users to implement.
Also, InTime requires that when the project is complete, all source code be turned over to InTime so that we can continue to evolve the tool in house.
Please read the attached requirements document carefully before bidding. It is important that the developer completely understands the project before agreeing to it, and provides an accurate estimate.
Please feel free to discuss the project and ask questions before bidding.
