Data acquisition data conversion program

We have several different data acquisition systems for our engine dynamometers, chassis dynamometer and in-vehicle data acquisition systems. We would like to be able to use a single software program to view, compare, graph, analyze and print the data. Each of the before mentioned data acquisition systems stores the data in different formats. Each software program has its own data viewing software that will only look at data in the format for that data acquisition system. We often find ourselves exporting the data and then viewing the data in Excel to analyze it or compare it to data from another data acquisition system. Because each system has a different data format, it is not possible to quickly open the data files in Excel. Other programs may also exist that would be better than Excel for viewing, analyzing, and printing the data and may be easier to work with when trying to adapt the data files. If this is the case, we are willing to discuss using something other than Excel. This project consists of creating a software conversion program that will take the space delimited output file from one of our data acquisition systems (examples in [login to view URL]) and convert it to a format that can be opened in Excel without having to be reformatted, manipulated in a text editor, etc. The second part of the project is to create a software program (or the same program with another output option) that will convert the same data acquisition files into a format that can be read by one of our other data acquisition software programs. I didn't realize you could only have one ZIP file so when I uploaded the second file, it removed the first file. Also, some confusion seems to exist regarding what the project requires (maybe partially based on the missing files). The EFI files (*.efi) are just examples of what the one program (the one with the web site link) can already read. The *.efi files do NOT need to be converted into any other format. The files of the type in the [login to view URL] format need to be converted into the *.EFI format. Another area of confusion, this project is just to create a program that can convert the files of the type found in the [login to view URL] file into a format that can be easily opened in Excel and then also opened with the EFILive program. Like in our other project, I didn't realize that if we specified a $500+ project that bids below $500 could not be submitted. Since some potential bidders commented that they could do it for less than $500, I have lowered the minimum bid amount. Just because I have lowered the minimum bid amount does not mean that we will not accept bids above $500. We will pick the individual/company that we feel will deliver us with the best product for the price. A couple of hours of wasted labor on our end could easily make a low cost bid be the wrong choice and we are aware of that. Also, some people have asked about automating the data conversion process etc. Although that would be interesting, that is beyond the scope of this project. We just want a program that we manually execute and then f rom within that program, manually select the file or files we want to convert and the format or formats we want to convert them to. Given the differences between the starting data files, a template or other options may need to be selected when importing or converting the data (that will be up to the software developer to decide based on the sample data acquisition files). ## Platform This software needs to operate in a Windows XP environment.
