change to AJAX form in ASP Classic

Need help updating purchase process on a site process starts on <[login to view URL]> - at bottom of page - when you submit you go to page that displays your quantity selected with sub-total - calc of tax based on state and calc of shipping based on country and option chosen. 2 issues - first on the [login to view URL] page - they now want to base the shipping price on the quantity - so if you purchase one and live in US - for regular shipping - it is 2.95 - then add one dollar for ever additional item purchased. - this will be the same for the other methods also - not sure of exact amounts yet - but I can fill those in once the process has been completed. Next - the sub-total / tax / shipping and total are all inserted in the form using the td tag id. I need to get those figures into the form using hidden inputs - but when I try that - the totals no longer show up. Not sure what is going on there - but I need to get those numbers to the post page to be able to add the information to the database.
