AJAX App

Build a search interface consisting of a search and results panel displayed adjacent to each other on the screen. Until disabled, as the mouse hovers over an element (search box, results panel) a popup balloon dialog explains what the element does or expects. Popular search terms will be displayed in the search panel. Default search terms may also be defined and these will always be displayed. When clicked on the term will be filled into the search box and triggers the search. As users type words into the search input, matching words from a xmlhttprequest (XHR) are displayed offering the user a selection to choose from. The matches are displayed in horizontal or vertical orientation and may be accompianied by a small image/icon. Upon completion of a word (spacebar, tab, or return) XHR is sent and results are displayed in the results panel, which begins scrolling in a continuous loop if results > 1 screen full. The scroll rate is set by a user control near the search box. On mouseover the results panel stops scrolling. If the user clicks on a result, a details page is transitioned into the results panel taking up the entire panel or only a section of it (small div, similar to a popup window). The details will be instances of the same class as its parent, the results panel, so it can pop up dialog boxes, auto-scroll, etc. The user can click and drag the results panel following the scroll direction. Data will be transmitted using JSON or XML. I will provide the server side but you will need to know how to parse and format the data. You will use the Zimbra AJAX Toolkit as the base for your classes. Download the entire ZCS or I can provide just the toolkit for you. Animations and effects will be based on MochiKit or Prototype. The paging widget from OpenRico will be utilized. Use MVC in architecturing the design. Do not bid unless you are willing to provide Class and Sequence diagrams prior to bid acceptance. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
