This is a very fast piece of work for someone that knows has the right, I estimate about a hundred lines of code, the technology skills are a little unusual, and may make the work tricky and does require someone with a good knowledge of [login to view URL] Data Services (Async). With C# some LINQ, Most of the work has already been done work has already been done; What’s been done so and works ok except for adding, deleting, editing records which works sometimes, just needs some work identify the errors and fix them. ## Deliverables What’s been done so and works ok except for adding, deleting, editing records which works sometimes, just needs some work identify the errors: Error I am receiving, same as this post: [login to view URL] But I couldn’t get this solution to work for me, I didn’t really understand either piece of code (my programming isn’t that good) (this is the most technical part of the work, all the other requirements are very straight forward/ easy) What I need: 1. Need to be able to Add, Delete, Edit records for any of the Entity’s in the database, without getting the error. Most of the code is already written for this, it just some checks first to stop the entity conflict errors. 2. The records should be submitted in Batches if possible, I am not sure if you can get a new record ID back from a posted batch, so inserts may have to be done individually, in order to return the Unique Identifiers. 3. Reading information as a batch should be possible at least? Have a setting that controls how saves are performed: 4. Directly when data on screen is changed. or on a timer (ie every 30 seconds) 5. When the users chooses to (ie by pressing a button) 6. Refresh the Entity set when saving. I am not sure if saving records already refreshes the entity from the database (ie if someone else has changed a record that wasn’t affected by this users changes, if that record is then updated in his Entity set) The different access that is required for users: a. Full read/write. b. Read only. c. Read /write suggest (this doesn’t allow them to change a record, but they can make a suggestion against it) If 2 users both with full write access change a record, the first user to save will commit the change to the original record from the database. The second user will have there changes written to a suggestion record. This concurrency info should be available in the etags. Other optional work that could be included: 1: if big improvements can be made with changing the code for setting up a context /uri connection then would consider that. Currently there are 3 of these connections. 2. Would like the New unique ID’s back from the inserts, but is this possible with batches? 3. I am concerned about the amount of traffic so if improvements in read/ write can be made I am happy to hear any suggestions. Technologies required: C# [login to view URL] 3.5 Data Services Entity framework LINQ Written in Silverlight (but no Silverlight required for this) Visual Studio Web dev edition 2008 with SQL express 2008. + Silverlight version 2 with sdk ** DESCRIPTION OF APPLICATION** I will be looking for additional help with the rest of the application (this part is the first of 5 sections) some of the additional functionality I will need for the completed application is: social network/forum project management tool, content management .. are just some of the requirements If i have a good experience with a coder then they wil be my first choice for new work. for this project/work you dont need to know what the whole application does as this wont help, but simply explained this part of the application puts round circles (Expander) on the screen, and connecting links (connectorControls). So 2 different types of objects. These are in separate Entity tables in the database. When running the ButtonSelect_Click method it loops through and loads all the circles, then calls loadBubbleConnections() to load connections. These are both Using LINQ to [login to view URL] Data Services And may be changed as specified in the spec (if there is an advantage in doing so). When the data is changed, changes are recorded in an array (saveDataChanges[0-2, 0-13] for circles, and connectors just have a few additional properties where the data is linked to each object. When save is pressed the routine (bt_xxx) just loops through the objects on the canvas and records the details to be saved to the database. In the save routine, there are 3 methods for circles: Add, edit, delete private void dataHandlingBubbleAdd(Expander aBubble) private void dataHandlingBubbleDelete(int dbubble_id) private void dataHandlingBubbleUpdate(Expander uBubble) a save method is called when the 3 above methods are ready to save 2 methods for connectors: add, delete (I might add an edit later on) private void dataHandlingConnectionDelete(int dRelation_id) private void dataHandlingConnectionAdd(connectorControls aConnection) a save method is called when the 2 above methods are ready to save private void relationSaveResults() Each data handling method (ie the 5 I have mentioned above)is written almost exactly the same way, so finding a way to stop the error Ive described can be applied to all 5 methods in class. The project isn’t complex to understand at all in fact its very simple, the programmer just needs the skills to do the job. I have attached the code file (c# class) the datahandling starts at line 800
