Hi, This can be achieved by designing a WCF service for server side. This service will be deployed on server as a windows service and listen to a specific port. Hi, I have read your requirements and have some questions: 1. Why don't you use regular way (HTTP/Web Forms) to connect between client & server? Because you already state the client is a web form, so I think this will reduce a lot of effort? 2. If you still insist to do by open socket connection, does the server need to deal with network infrastructure problem, i.e. a firewall block the connection port? 3. In the server, how to verify the username/password? does it connect to a database or just hard code in the application? Regards,

Hi, I've read through your requirements and understand what you're after. One project with a single login page, client posts username and password back to the server, whereupon the server opens a TCP socket to a seperate application. Second application will be a Windows service which will use the ASP.net membership provider (running off the standard SQL server membership database?) to validate usernames and passwords. I assume you're expecting another application, separate to all of this, will be responsible for populating the membership database with users and passwords? If you like, I could provider a separate console app, ASP.net page or message interface into the service to support creation of accounts, to complete the functionality required for basic testing. All my .net code is Microsoft design guidelines compliant C# (or VB.net if you prefer), fully stylecopped and xcommented throughout so easy to follow. I have over 10 years experience experience with ASP.net and windows services, so this project is a good fit for my skillset and experience.
