Retreive Images from MYSQL Database in JSP

1. I have done such task of storing images in mysql and retrieving them on a client, developed for a registration application, Where the webcam was going be used for capturing the image/picture and upload it in mysql bit by bit. 2. Later, based on user id/identification number we use sql query on mysql server to retrieve the image in byte stream, and recreate the image using [login to view URL] datatype. 3. Pros of storing images in mysql : 1. One place for entire mysql database backup, including other data and images (byte stream) 2. no need to maintain any image directory on web server. 4. Cons of storing images in mysql : 1. Its slower then serving a flat image file from the webserver. 2. Database will become very large and not all web hosts take too kindly to this ( if you are using some kind of VPS machine for web hosting ) 5. I can add Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Maven framework However my suggestion for you : Use [login to view URL] instead of mysql to store images. 1. You can use [login to view URL], to store images. Also it will allow you to retrieve images in various sizes as per your requirement, it will also provide you a static url for each image and each size. This urls never change. "Square","Thumbnail","Medium","Large" an example from a client : [login to view URL](W)&City=Mumbai&output=html [login to view URL](E)&City=Mumbai&output=html
