Verticco is an online retailer, carrying various household products. We sign up with vendors so that we can carry their products on our web sites and sell to consumers. The product information we receive from each vendor/brand comes in many formats, usually excel, and needs to be updated and put in a certain data feed file in excel format so that we can do bulk-import and post all products on our web site, www.verticco.com. It is highly recommended to review the website and look at the product details used for an individual item. The main data fields required for each product are: 1)Unique product ID - provided by vendors 2)Unique product name - provided by vendors but need to be modified/edited 3)Unique product description - may or may not be provided by vendor. Each one needs to be edited or written. 4)Assigned category - based on Verticco existing categories. 5)Collection - if available provided by vendors 6)Specs - provided by vendors 7)Images to match each item - provided by vendors. They will be shared with the candidate either in the product file or on filezilla. Any information that has be provided by vendors and is missing should be redirected to them. Therefore, the person analyzing the data has to communicate back to us to obtain them. - Since the data comes in many different forms; ie. excel, pdf, web, ftp, etc., the candidate will have to be able to gather and combine the data in the excel file in a predetermined format as in the attached document. Therefore, very strong excel skills are required. - Product description is a critical part of our success in sales. Not every vendor provides descriptions or not all descriptions provided are grammatically correct. The candidate will need to be able to write or edit product descriptions while keeping them UNIQUE for each product. Therefore, good command of English and writing skills are required. - Person will need to be detail oriented in order to work with files with a few thousand line items. Detailed guidelines and instructions are provided in the sample file. First tab has instructions, second tab is what we received from the vendor, and the third one is a sample for the first 3 items on the list. This will be an ongoing repeat business as the candidate gets familiar with the process and provides successful results. The first task will be a relatively medium size job with 947 items, but we have a long list of brands waiting to formatted with thousands of products.
