This project is to develop an SPA web application using Durandal javascript library. It will be an application that we will put into production environment but it's purpose is also to demonstrate the most exciting features available with HTML5 and frameworks like Twitter Bootstrap and Durandal, much like the Code Camper SPA demo ([login to view URL])!
The application is essentially an email sender/mail-merge application/outlook/email with some metadata...pretty straight forward.
It will be a fun project for the right freelancer... Please only apply if you've worked with these libraries/frameworks in the past (a few, and not necessarily at the same time) and have a high degree of interest in SPAs and advanced javascript development concepts (promise(), multi-threading, AMD, etc).
Libraries/Technologies:
Twitter Bootstrap (default, no customization of the theme or less)
knockout.js
[login to view URL] (not [login to view URL], breeze supercedes this library. it includes KO, requirejs, sammyjs all-in-one)
jQuery
jQuery Mock JSON
Development Environment:
Issue Management System - YouTrack
Source Control - Private GitHub
Branch-per-task (TDD Development, [login to view URL]), many check-ins, always include check-in comment, each task/branch should be less than 16 hours of work, etc
IDE - Visual Studio 2012 / C# / MVC / Razor
MILESTONES
1. 3/15/2013: Deliver updated solution file that includes installed HotTowel starter template, implemented visual elements via Bootstrap components. This means each view's HTML is implemented (durandal), navigation (sammy routes) are setup, essentially the app looks done. KO mappings don't need to be done by this point. QA will test for responsiveness and cross-browser compat issues.
2. 3/26/2013: Deliver updated solution including: fully-implemented views and viewModels, implemented mockJSON for test data (will provide json schema way in advance), should have started EntityManager and data services (breezejs). The client-side metadata should already be defined based on provided json schema.
3. 4/1/2013: All data services implemented, all validation implemented, will debrief our developer and participate in an informal code review via goToMeeting, skype, or something for screensharing. QA will submit final bug reports via issue system within 2 days, these should all be fixed by final due date.
FINAL DUE DATE 4/6/2013: ready for delivery/hand-off, no bugs, and all issues/bugs/questions addressed.
See attached document and mockups for full details and reference links.
Note, all code for this application will be our property.
