You must be able to communicate by phone with a customer, create the logo and favicon (icon) and design one page (in php) with a graphic. There is a limit to how much you have to talk to them--just enough to make a reasonable effort and make something decent. They should be able to give feedback on what you first create and (again, within reason) request modifications.
