Build a website for children - please read description for details

I want to build a website with illustrated and animated children's books and a game to go with each book. I want to start the site with one book and one game. It will also have some content written for it but I will provide that as well as the books. I will also hire independent illustrators for the design of the books and characters. However, I will need whoever codes and designs the website to upload and animate the designs. I have hired a web developer before and was very unhappy. Although I don't know how to illustrate or code, I do know what I am looking for. Having said that though, I listen to and appreciate feedback. If you think this is something you can do, please send me the following: 1) Provide links for sites similar to this... could be a site that is for kids, a game you made or anything that is relevant. DO NOT SEND ME LINKS THAT DO NOT WORK. And, only send me links to sites that you created. 2) Tell me how much you think it will cost to get the site up and running with one book and game. 3) Tell me the parts of the site that you can provide and who else I will need to hire to complete the site. It's ok if you can only do portions of the site. We can build a team together. 4) Tell me if you are ok with me owning and controlling all source codes and passwords. (the last person I worked with kept everything secret. In the end, I spent thousands and had nothing) 5) Provide references for sites you built. 6) How long to do you think it will take to put the site together with one book and one game? This will end up being an on-going project and I would like to put a good team in place to make this dream a reality. PLEASE PROVIDE THE ABOVE or I won't look at your proposal.
