Build a Website - Leaderboard Site

The site will consist of a main index page with paginated listings of users, together with some basic stats about the users, a user detail page that lists their profile photo, name, username, and a couple of basic stats - plus a graphically generated chart showing their performance over time, and a search facility. MAIN INDEX: User accounts have two stats - lets call them A & B - both are whole numbers ranging from 0 to millions. The main index will list users by sorting the A or B column in descending order. Each user row should feature their small thumbnail pic, name, link to their username page, bio excerpt, stat A, stat B. USERNAME PAGES: Each time the page is accessed the script will check if the stats have been updated in the last 24 hours. If not, the new stats will be fetched which is done by a HTTP request, and then stripping some data from the returned HTML code. The details that need to be fetched are the name, stat A, stat B, bio, and profile image URL. When updating stats an entry should be added in the database including the date and time of the fetch, and stats A & B. The username page will display a larger profile image, the bio, a link to an external page containing the username of the user, the name of the user, their latest stat A & B, and a graphically generated chart showing the history of stat A & B. Both stats can be shown on the same graph by laying the data on top of each other with the scale for stat A on the left, and the scale for stat B on the right. SEARCH FACILITY A search box will appear at the top of each page, allowing visitors to search by keyword. Search results are displayed by matching the keyword against username, name, bio text. Results are sorted by stat A or stat B (visitor can change selection). TRENDING USERS In the sidebar of the page we would like a list of the top 10 trending users, based on the % increase of their stat A & stat B score over the past 24 hours. There will be two lists - one of the fastest growing stat A, and other for the fastest growing stat B. SUMMARY This is a simply project for someone with PHP and SQL skills. It could lead to further development work for the right person.
