I have developed a visual acuity program for eye doctors called NextAcuity. I am working on an improvement to the children's pictures to be used when a child is too young to know their letters so pictures are used instead to measure the visual acuity. I have some children's images already made (see attached folder) but the line width is too thin to be consistent with the adult letters used in this program. When I measure the adult letters we have line widths 3-4X thicker for the adult letters compared to the line width on these children's pictures.
The project: Redraw 8 children's pictures that a child 2-4 years old would recognize using a black line width 3-4X thicker than the example children's pictures provided. The goal is to make the children's pictures using a line width equal to the adult letters as seen in the "Adult 100 " picture. Because we are using much thicker lines for this set of children's pictures all small details in these pictures can be eliminated so they are more symbols of a dog, train ect. and not detailed drawings. You can use a star, circle, square, and 5 other pictures that you choose to invent or you can re-use the children’s picture ideas I provided once they are re-done with the much thicker lines. Any curved edges should have gray scale blending as seen in the 1600x enlarged photo.
Finally these fonts would be incorporated into the font provided and all the other pictures in that font deleted and replaced with these new improved pictures. A test of this special font when used in a MS Word document should show the pictures roughly the same size and level with the letters in a Word document. A list should be provided to know which keyboard key will bring up each of the children’s picture in that font. Thanks, I hope you can take on this project and look forward to your quote and milestone suggestions.
