Add basic UI function to AS3 project.

I am looking to add a developer to work on an extended contract basis with me. This will be a really small test project to get a feel for what working with you would be like. It will turn into a full time equivalent work for the right candidate. We are building a Facebook sim game in the genre of Farmville. We are using the PushButtonEngine game engine, and Robot Legs micro-architecture, as well as AS3-Signals to replace the use of the core event system. My lead developer on the game, really doesn't have the time to commit the hours I need to the project. He had never programmed in Flash and was able to pull my code base together in about 6 hours. I suspect a good Flex/As3 programmer can probably do what I need in under 2 hours. I have a programming background, but don't consider myself currently a developer. I was looking at my codebase and trying to figure out how to implement a rich UI using PushButtonEngine and AS3 and it seems to me that it would be much easier to do in Flex than using PBE and AS3. What I would like you to do is take the code base I give you which basically only starts up all of the components and loads a very basic game background, and convert it to be a flex project instead of a pure AS3 project. I want the conversion to implement good MVC code layout. All code I get back will need to be well commented explaining how the pieces fit together. If you believe a rich UI can be implemented using just AS3 instead of Flex you can convince me in your bid. In which case I will just hire you to implement the beginnings of a UI on my existing codebase. I also will want one menu component implemented, but in a very basic fashion. I have the whole flash file of what my hud will look like. We will just implement one small part of it and when it is clicked I'd like it to pull up a new menu container, but it doesn't have to be skinned or functional. I just want to get to see how you would go about building out the UI.
