Are you looking to manufacture the door and motor setup? Or just for modeling purposes? Should it be the conventional chain or screw drive type opener? Or are you looking for something new and different? As a mechanical engineer and home improvement hobbyist, I am very familiar with the workings of electric garage door openers. I have fixed them on many occasions. I am also a freelance designer and drafter, currently working on many different projects including commercial brewery equipment and sports equipment. I can deliver not only CAD files, but technical drawings for manufacturing if that is required. My standard rates are $50/hr for drafting and $75/hr for design. Without having all the pertinent info, I estimated the job at 5 hours or so, hence my $400 bid. If you are interested in working with me please give a shout and we can discuss further.
