The first data required would be the power required by the boat to operate at different speeds,- as the speed of the boat goes up exponentially. The power required would be around the existing engine rating of 70 HP. However, the torque speed characteristics of the 2-stroke engine are different from that of a brushless motor. I presume you intend to retain the existing propeller. The propeller data would also be required. Besides a battery you would also require an electronic speed controller. This an interesting project, but some more information is required for the project to be completed successfully.
