We operate [login to view URL], a local entertainment guide that requires data entry services on a regular basis.

The two main data entry roles are
- Account Setup (adding a new company)
- Account Maintenance (making updates to existing companies ie:Managed Accounts)
NEW ACCOUNTS - Performed As Needed
- Approx 10-30 minutes each (Average 20mins)
Setting up a new account involves using that companies official website or other online sources to find their basic information (company name, description, logo, images). You will also need to post all of their upcoming Events, and any food/drink specials, jobs, or coupons they may have.

Note: Sometimes the logo/image is not easily downloadable. In that case, you will need to either a) search google images for another version of the logo, or B) Use the' Print Screen' function, and then edit the image in Paint or Photoshop so that it suits our needs. This should never take more than about 5 minutes.
MANAGED ACCOUNTS - Performed Weekly
- Light Load: Avg 2-10 minutes per update
- Heavy Load: Avg 20-45 minutes per update.
Our paying clients receive Managed Accounts, which means we do all of the updates for them. This task requires checking the companies official website (or other known source of up to date info) and posting the new information that you find. Sometimes there are no updates to make, other times there are many new items to post.
There are Guidelines that you will need to follow to make sure the accounts and updates are completed correctly, but I will just teach those to the winning candidate.
We use an online Project Management system to track work. If we need a New Account created, it will be posted in the online system and you will receive an email about it. We often need New Accounts created within 24-48 hours. We also keep the list of Managed Accounts (currently there are about 25) in the online system, and so each week you will review each account on the list.
Currently this job will only require about 2-6 hours per week, however we plan to expand our website to many many more Cities and so our data entry needs will increase significantly. This expansion will likely begin to occur in about 6-8 months.
The person who delivers a high standard and reliability on this project can look forward to larger volumes of work in the future.
The successful candidate for this role will:
- Be highly proficient in English. Although this role usually only involves copy/pasting existing text, you will sometimes need to use your own judgment when making edits. It will NOT BE ACCEPTABLE to have poor grammar.
- Possess strong critical thinking skills and be able to make decisions when the 'correct answer' is not always clear.
I am willing to pay up to $4 for the winning candidate, but will accept lower bids that can deliver the same high standard. Currently I expect this work to required 2-6 hours per week (or about 20 hours per month), but the work load may increase significantly in a few months when we start adding new cities for ThisCity.com.
