Country profiles. 1000 words to describe 50 countries.

For every independent country of the world we require text for a forthcoming e book publication. We have already compiled text for 55 countries leaving the remaining 141 to be done. We would like you to quote on 50 countries at the moment. I have put a range of £1000 to £5000 to provide you with a very rough guide. Requirements A copy writer with a good general geographic knowledge preferably. British English first language preferable. Text items required for each country Interesting Statement (25-30 words) Geographic Overview (50 words) Climate (30-40 words) Terrain (30-40 words) Natural Hazards (20 words) Country Overview (150 words) Country Profile (700-750 words) In total around 1000 – 1100 words per country on average. Smaller countries will require much less than 1000 and some of the largest, a bit more. 50 countries in total. The Country Overview and longer Country Profile should include text taken from the Geographic Overview, Climate, Terrain and Natural Hazards text items. (i.e. THERE WILL BE SOME REPETITION AND RE-USE) Style Guide: Our detailed style guide will be supplied. Numbers in metric (imperial in brackets) Name Forms: Use English Conventional (English language) name forms only. No need to include local language alternatives in brackets as in the text examples provided. Sources: Please use primary sources where possible, don’t ‘copy and paste’ from Wikipedia although we don’t mind you referring to it. Could use Britannica, Statesman’s year book, country websites (We can also supply our country website links for obtaining official information). We can also supply some of our existing country text information to assist compilation (File B, provided). Deadline: Aim is to compile text for 50 countries by the deadline of 14/5/12.
