I have 2 radio transceivers; an ICOM IC40S UHF FM "CB" radio, and an ICOM IC-A22E VHF AM "Air-Band" transceiver.
I have a stereo headset, with 2 push-to-talk buttons (one on each ear)
I require a circuit such that I can listen to either/both radios at the same time, as follows:
A) If either one of the radios is receiving - I wish to hear the reception in both ears.
B) If both radios are receiving at the same time - I wish to hear the "Air-Band" VHF reception in my left ear only, and the "CB" UHF reception in my right ear only.
If possible - it would be convenient if I could avoid having to install a second set of speakers inside my headset.
Preferably - a solution that requires little or no external power would be ideal, or something extremely low-current and light-weight (eg: powered by lithium button-cells mounted inside my headset).
The push-to-talk buttons must work as expected (the left-button transmits on "Air-Band", and the right-button transmits on "CB"). The headset boom-mic contains two pickup microphones already.
## Deliverables
1) Easy to follow construction instructions.
2) Detailed description of how the circuit works.
## Platform
Minimal components and wiring is preferred. Easily obtainable components are essential. I already own a 4066 IC if that's useful.
