I am a scholar looking for translation (French to English) and research assistance with a 155 page legal-historical document. The document was written by a French international jurist in 1930 and deals with human rights issues. It is dense, academic, legal prose, but interesting subject matter.
The job requires fluent knowledge French, excellent translation skills, and proven academic research skills. Legal and/or historical research experience is particularly valuable.
The job includes: (1) reading the document, (2) identifying only those paragraphs that are relevant to a few specific issues that I am researching, and (3) translating only these relevant paragraphs into English. The translation needs to be meticulous.
The work needs to be done on a short timeline, so I am looking for a person that can invest many hours in the next few weeks. If the relationship is successful, there are other texts with which I will need help.
