Copy site to a new server Joomla/Akeeba backup?kickstart.php

Hi there, I have a site currently with another host, i want to replicate it onto another temp url for me to work on some edits away from the live site. I did not build the original site. It is joomla and it has Akeeba backup installed. I have been able to download the backup file and using the Kickstarter package from Akeeba I have uploaded it to the new url. However it does not appear to be working as it just shows a blank page. I dont know why this is the case. I have previously used this method to move joomla sites and it has been faultless. However on this occasion it wont work. I would like your assistance to trouble shoot why this may be. I expect your quotes to be low. IE £20-£40 max as I am sure this is a simple problem to resolve please quote Surf in your reply.
