We have a 1.5 story house, and wish to convert it to a full two stories. It is in an R-5 district, which can go up to 40 feet, so zoning should not be an issue. We have an amazing contractor but need a structural review. Ideally the same person also has in house drafting and ability to file. Honestly, as the second floor will be one room, and as we know the design we want to do, more or less, we are not sure we need an architect as such.

Hello, I have enlarged my house. I added an extention of 12 feet by 29 feet to my house. In my extension, my contractor changed the slope of the roof to higher peak to avoid snow and water accumation. It is okay with the city but I require a letter of recommendaiton that basedon the plan after buildt is better than the one before built. My contractor did not want to add more loads to the existing roof so he made it V for the middle roof and then inverse V for the new extension to eliminate or to have less water, sinow, wind, etc problems. I need a letter of recommendation by an engineer to add to my architect plan to provide to the city. I have the plan of the extension before and after from the dratsman and architect. The proposed construction is located in very deep potential high water that may exceed 5+ ft in depth per City Study, SWS-027 & is adjacent to the FEMA Floodway. The current Base Flood Elevation near the site is 591 ft MSL. At a minimum please verify the structure will be built at or above 591 ft MSL and will be constructed outside of the FEMA Floodplain. The City is recommending the owner hire a civil engineer with a background in the floodplain mitigation to advise on the structure's finished floor elevation and to verify the structure will not lead to an impact on the FEMA Floodway and the Adjacent lot owners.

We are looking for a civil engineer to help us build a patio on the side of Oviedo Bowling Center. This will be an area where overflow of guests can comfortably wait for a lane or spend an evening. Food and alcohol will be permitted in this area, it will need a fence around the border. Large concrete slab patio with metal awning most of it. Have concrete company and awning company secured. Hi, I am looking for a civil engineer to inspect and then comment on a water intrusion issue at The Retina Institute. Neighbors have suggested that standing water on their property is a result of parking lot construction because it wasn't there before. A few professionals have commented on this thus far (engineer who designed, geographer, etc.) From my understanding, most if not all, have said the parking lot is NOT the cause due to the retaining wall and design.

Temporary structure at Airport

I need a 10'X14' gazebo to be certified up to 130 MPH wind-speed for a permit in MA (the engineer needs to be certified in MA). There's a specific gazebo that I am interested in and it comes with rough plans visible online (scroll down to the "Assembly Instructions" PDF at: ). My building department will accept the assembly instructions linked above as plans, but I just need the wind speed certified by an engineer. The manufacturer has only tested it up to 100 MPH. I'm hoping that adding hurricane ties to all rafters (in the stock option some do not have ties) and deeper anchor screws to attach it to the concrete footing (4' concrete pillars) will make the structure suitable up to 130 MPH. My husband is a welder and has built several barns and storage buildings in Texas. We are moving to a rural area in Hondo, New Mexico. In order to build a 40 by 60 foot barn with a center height of 17 feet, we need plans and a structural engineering stamp. We do not want a prefab kit.
