Project Overview
We are looking for a designer to partner with for the long term. Our immediate goal is to find the right person to redraw our entire library of over 500 symbols.

This contest is a preliminary test to evaluate your ability to handle technical clarity and information hierarchy. The winner will be prioritized for the full project of 500+ icons.

The Task
Recreate the provided 2D floor plan. The main objective is to simplify the design and improve legibility, especially in congested areas where symbols are grouped or overlapping.

Target Audience
The plan is editable and meant for construction and renovation professionals. They value technical information over interior decoration.

Primary Focus: Electrical items, plumbing, and technical infrastructure.
Secondary Focus: Interior design elements (rugs, plants, etc.) should be present but less prominent.

Design guidelines:

- Items should be simplified as much as possible but still recognisable
- Walls can also be changed but not necessarily
- The output needs to be vector based drawing (SVG)
- Keep a consistent line width over all symbols (there can be multiple line widths but they need to be consistent)
- Use black and grey-scale only (some items can be lighter than others, but don’t use colours)
- Electrical and plumbing symbols are standard (the line thickness, opacity and size can be changed but not the shape)
- The style of the text showing the room name and size can be changed but the text cannot be moved as it is placed automatically

The shower has a shower head and two shower screens, one on each side, which need to be represented as well.
3D views have been provided to give better idea of what the symbols represent.
The symbol in the middle of the room and against the walls all around the room a electrical and plumbing symbols representing plugs, water supply/drainage, etc.
The VMC symbol in the top left corner represents a mechanical ventilation vent

Evaluation Criteria
We are looking for a clean, professional aesthetic that prioritizes information hierarchy. The best design will be the one that stays clear even in the most crowded zones of the plan.
