Require a brand logo (including background) for African American clothing line.
Brand name is: Da'Iki
The logo should include the full brand name.
Clothing is bright, bold, fun, and full of life. Pictures of example garments from our catalog are attached.
The background design for the logo is important too and will be part of the brands identity.
Target audience is African American, USA market. Garments range across all gender and age groups.
We will be printing on mediums that limit number of colours, a maximum of 4 colours can be used in the logo and background combined.
Design will be used in multiple locations:
- printed plastic zip lock bags, print area 9x12 inches
- webstore banners (size not yet defined)
- printed promotional materials
- social media avatars and other online marketting uses
- clothing tags (size and design will depend on the final artwork chosen)
Submissions should focus on the bags 9x12 inch dimensions, most of the other use cases we will adapt the chosen design to fit by cropping/extending background area, a design that allows for this will be preferred.
Design can have a tag line, but this is not required, examples:
- Africa Freedom
- Africa Power
- Africa Roots
- Africa Love
Afrika can replace Africa in tag line, or any other suitable wording is acceptable.
Inspiration can come from kente, fresca, ankara, and angelina type fabric prints. A search for "traditional african fabric designs" will show many results, applicants must avoid copying or deriving from possibly copyrighted prints/artworks.
Design can include a stylized model wearing one of our garments, for example a simple dashiki shirt, but this is not a requirement, simple bold designs that have no model will be strongly considered. If a model/s is used they should be African American.
Font must be free to use commercially, we will be adding additional text to designs and request the fonts name (or name of complimentary font/s).
File format vector SVG, with appropriate layers/groupings of objects. Inkscape SVG acceptable.

Thank you all for the new entries. My favourite is currently #29, I would ask these changes:
- It must be a total of 4 colours including black
- Please try different colour combinations, including different colours for the text
- I like the square swirl being on the middle line with the text, but I would like the bottom line which uses the same square swirl to change to another design, for example the art from the middle line of #30 / #31 could be used- 3 anos atrás

Some very good entries and ideas. I like the font used in #13 and #16
I like the backgrounds in #6 #13 #21 , I like #6 the most as it captures the bright bold tribal feeling wanted
I would like to have the brand name integrate into the background more, I have added 3 sample images to the project description which kind of show what I am thinking, I have cut and pasted a couple of Da'Iki brand name examples into the #6 background- 3 anos atrás
